I love this phone. It has a great weight to it. Call quality is awesome when I have all the bars. The web pages load fast. It works awesomely with my blue tooth!! My first phone was a Nokia, I'm so happy that I went back. They need to make better looking models!!

I've come to terms with the phone's so-so music and video players, although its 2.5mm headset jack prevents the use of standard music headphones. With my E71, I've been using the Plantronics MHS-213 earbuds ($20 to $40 street), the best pair I could find with a 2.5mm jack, and I've had no problem listening to music or watching 320-by-240-pixel, MPEG-4 videos.

This I have to say is one of the better non-window phones on the market. I tried some others, including the iPhone, and was impressed with the OS on the E71x and quick learning curve. I haven't found an app that I didn't like and the phone is so thin and light I forget that it's on my waist. Also the battery life is great. A typical time between charges is 3 days even with pinging the company email every 15 minutes and surfing the web.

The E71x has replaced my dial up connection on my desktop computer. I can NOT get any high speed connections. It works as a modem at at least twice to up to ten times my usual dial up speed. The PDA part of the phone has been very helpful. I don't forget anything any more, unless I don't enter the info. The keys are too small, I have large fingers. I am just glad I don't do text messaging. I will eventually. This phone is the best and the deal I got from "LetsTalk.com" has not been beat yet.

Symbian was the first smartphone OS available. It is widely used in Europe. It sports many of the features found on other smartphone OS's (Windows Mobile, Palm, BlackBerry) such the ability to view and edit documents, send/receive corporate and personal e-mail. Symbian smartphone can be customized easily and offer many applications for download, some that are even free.

There is A LOT of negative blogging relative to the e71x's perceived poor reception. Would you comment on that? Also, do you have any advanced notice of the pricing (with contract), of the new e71i, which debuts in October?
Thanks

I would be happy to comment on the Nokia E71x's reception. While I am not sure if unofficial reviews of the E71x's reception via blogs and the like, the official reviews of its reception have been very positive. Our internal expert review gave the E71x a 5/5 on call quality, and other review sites agreed. CNET, pcmag.com, Mobiletechreview.com, and infosynchworld.com all gave the E71x excellent marks for its reception and call quality.
I do not have any advance notice of pricing on the E71i. Rest assured, when that phone comes out, LetsTalk.com will offer extremely competitive pricing.

A world phone is a phone that can be used in other countries. It does not refer to the charger adapters. Please contact AT&T to determine the charges associated with using your phone in other countries.

The E71x camera has zoom and autofocus. The point of autofocus is to correct the natural bluriness that occurs when your hand moves when you are taking photos.

I noticed I am required to add a 30$/month data plan with this phone. Is there any way I can order this phone without this plan? Or can I cancel the plan when I have the phone?

As of September 6, 2009 AT&T mandates that all smartphones sold through any channel (brick and mortar, online, etc.) are required to have a data plan attached to them. This includes all Blackberry's, and all PDA's, including the E71x.
